Ep 1: Other Peoples' Interests | Everyday Lessons Every Day
In his very first podcast episode, David shares an everyday lesson from the first self-improvement book that he ever read.
How to Win Friends and Influence People, by Dale Carnegie, may have been written in 1936, but the lessons (if not the stories) are still relevant today, especially the lesson about other people's interests.

Ep 2: People Are More Important Than Things | Everyday Lessons Every Day
Do you take immaculate care of your yard, your car or other material things? David was obsessed with his lawn and his Jeep, to the point where even imagining something being imperfect gave him anxiety.
In his book, The Last Lecture, Randy Pausch shares a story that helps David and his listeners put things into perspective and to understand that people are more important than things.

Ep 3: Courage to Change | Everyday Lessons Every Day
After an inspiring workout, David shares how the lyrics to P!nk's song, Courage, combined with Peloton instructor Christine D'Ercole's personal story moved him to look deep inside and to discover the things that were causing him shame.
Then, with P!nk singing in the background and Christine inspiring him from the screen of his Peloton, he was moved to face that shame and use it to find the courage to change.

Ep 5: Take a Ride | Everyday Lessons Every Day
In this week's episode, David talks about his teenage son and daughter, and how hard it was for him when they no longer idolized him as a father.
That's when he implements a lesson from Lisa Damour's book Untangled: Guiding Teenage Girls Through The Seven Transitions Into Adulthood. Lisa recommends spending time in the car with teenagers in order to get them to open up.

Ep 6: You Only Fail if You Don't Try | Everyday Lessons Every Day
Not all everyday lessons come from self-improvement books. David finds several, including this week's lesson in the 90's movie Heart and Souls.
The story of four souls who have unfulfilled lives reveals that failure is the result of never trying.

Ep 7: Self Doubt | Everyday Lessons Every Day
While preparing for this episode, an off-hand comment from his daughter derails David, forcing him to question his reasons for writing.
As he struggles with self-doubt, a quote from Anna Kendrick's book, Scrappy Little Nobody, reminds him that his struggle is just a part of the journey.
